Apple and lavender going smoky, then oud and guaiac wood.
Bergamot and grapefruit come in cool and bitter, carrying the crisp apple facet borrowed from the original Layton. Lavender, cinnamon and geranium warm the middle into something darker and spicier, and then oud, guaiac wood and vanilla take it smoky and resinous well past the eight hour mark. If the original felt too polite, this is the answer to that. It asks for December, a coat, and a room with enough air in it to breathe.
