Amouage

Amouage was founded in 1983 in the Sultanate of Oman under the patronage of the royal family, with the stated aim of reviving Arabian perfumery for a modern audience. Every composition is built on costly raw materials, frankincense from Omani groves, oud, orris and rose among them, at concentrations most houses cannot justify. The formulas are aged before bottling, which is part of why Amouage smells denser and rounder than almost anything else on the shelf.
